IMPORTANT NOTICE: These Event Policies (the “Agreement”) govern your attendance at and participation in Law Biz Con, presented by Scalable Law Pty Ltd (“Company”). This includes all associated activities, virtual and in-person sessions, and events connected to Law Biz Con (“Event”).
By registering and ticking the box acknowledging these terms (i.e. I have read and agree to the terms above.”), you (“Registrant” or “Attendee”) agree to abide by this legally binding Agreement. If registering on behalf of another, you confirm you are authorised to do so and that the individual has reviewed and agrees to these terms.
- ATTENDEE REQUIREMENTS
1.1 Admittance Registration grants you access to the portion of Law Biz Con for which you have purchased a ticket. Company reserves the right to alter the event format (e.g., virtual, in-person, or hybrid), dates, and location. No refund will be provided due to such changes. You are responsible for all associated costs including travel, accommodation, and meals. You must wear your badge onsite and use secure links to attend virtual portions. Admission may be refused if you fail to present ID, registration confirmation, or violate terms herein.
1.2 Use of Likeness By attending, you consent to being filmed, photographed, or recorded, and grant Company the perpetual right to use your likeness in any media, globally, for promotional or archival purposes without compensation. You waive any claims relating to such use and agree to resolve disputes via a 30-day written notice and cure period before pursuing any legal action.
1.3 Event Content Company reserves the right to change any element of Law Biz Con, including speakers, sessions, venue, and schedule.
1.4 Conduct Professional and respectful behaviour is required at all times. Discrimination, harassment, trolling, or bullying in any form is grounds for removal.
- PROHIBITED CONDUCT
2.1 Disruptive Conduct Attendees who engage in disruptive, unlawful, or disrespectful behaviour may be removed without refund.
2.2 Recording and Distribution Video or audio recording of Law Biz Con content is strictly prohibited unless for brief clips (e.g., for social media posts) with proper context and compliance. Full recordings or live streams are not allowed.
2.3 Solicitation (Suitcasing/Outboarding) Unauthorised commercial activity, including soliciting business or offering products or services without permission, is strictly prohibited. Violators will be removed without refund.
2.4 Right of Refusal Company reserves the right to deny or cancel registration at its sole discretion and without reason, except where a refund is due.
- FEES & REFUNDS
3.1 Payment All registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. Entry will be denied for non-payment.
3.2 Taxes Applicable GST or other taxes may be added to your total fee.
3.3 Refund Policy All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be issued except at Company discretion.
- PRIVACY
Company respects your privacy. Personal information collected is used solely for event operations and communications. Your name and firm may appear on your badge. For more information, see our full Privacy Policy.
- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content, branding, and materials associated with Law Biz Con are owned by Company. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any intellectual property without express written permission.
- LIABILITY & ASSUMPTION OF RISK
6.1 Disclaimer Law Biz Con is provided “as-is.” Company makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy or completeness of information presented. Speaker opinions are their own.
6.2 Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent allowed by law, Company is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your participation.
6.3 Maximum Liability Liability is limited to the amount paid by the attendee to Company.
6.4 Risk Acknowledgement Attendees participate voluntarily and assume full responsibility for their physical and emotional well-being.
6.5 Indemnification Attendee agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Company, its affiliates, and staff from any claims or liabilities arising from attendance.
- RELEASE
You fully release Company and its affiliates from any claims arising out of your attendance or participation in Law Biz Con. This includes personal injury, disability, death, property damage, or other loss regardless of cause.
- FORCE MAJEURE
Company is not liable for event changes or cancellations due to causes beyond its control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or health crises. Refunds under such circumstances are at Company’s discretion.
- HEALTH & SAFETY
9.1 Illness Acknowledgement You acknowledge the risks associated with communicable diseases, including COVID-19, and attend at your own risk.
9.2 Personal Responsibility You affirm that you will not attend if experiencing symptoms of illness or if recently exposed to a contagious condition.
- GENERAL
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in Queensland courts. If any provision is found unenforceable, it shall be modified to best reflect the original intent. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Company regarding Law Biz Con and supersedes prior agreements. Company reserves the right to modify these policies at any time.
